It is an honor to take on the role of Chair of the IPIE's Board of Trustees. We are at a critical moment for the global information environment, and the need for rigorous, independent science to guide policymakers, industry, and civil society has never been greater. I look forward to working with the Board and the IPIE Secretariat to advance that mission, and to building on the remarkable foundation that Sheldon Himelfarb has established.

The IPIE also wishes to recognize the outstanding contribution of Dr. Sheldon Himelfarb, who steps down as Chair after co-founding the organization and guiding it through its formative years. His vision and leadership were instrumental in establishing the IPIE as the world's leading independent scientific body on the global information environment.

Reflecting on his tenure, outgoing Chair Sheldon Himelfarb said:

It has been a privilege to help build the IPIE from the ground up and to watch it grow into a truly global scientific organization. I am proud of what we have achieved together, and I have every confidence that Susan will bring exceptional leadership and vision to the role. The IPIE is in excellent hands.

Professor Phil Howard, President of the IPIE, welcomed the appointment:

On behalf of the IPIE, I want to extend our deepest gratitude to Sheldon Himelfarb for his extraordinary contribution as Co-Founder and Chair. His dedication has been fundamental to everything we have built; his continuing service on Board means a great deal to all of us. We are delighted to welcome Susan Doniz to the role.
