Scientific Collaboration Officer
Jessica Gold serves as the Scientific Collaboration Officer at the IPIE. In this role, she supports the work of the IPIE’s scientific panels, the three standing committees—Ethics, Membership, and Science and Methodology—and affiliate member management.
Prior to joining the IPIE in this role, she pursued an academic career as a sociologist, with research focused on inequality in organizations, higher education, and science and technology.
Jessica holds a PhD and MA in Sociology from the University of California, Davis, and a BA from the College of William & Mary. She previously worked as a researcher at Northeastern University on a large, multi-year, NSF-funded project examining gender equity and scientific careers, and has been involved in several international collaborative research projects in the United States and Europe. Her work brings together computational, quantitative, and qualitative approaches to study equity, evaluation, and knowledge production.
In addition to her role as Scientific Collaboration Officer, Jessica serves as a Consulting Scientist with the IPIE on the AI and Economic Inclusion panel, where she contributes to the development of systematic reviews and meta-analyses on AI, inequality, and inclusion. She currently resides in Tucson, Arizona.
