Dr. Godofredo Ramizo Jr. is a scholar of the digital economy, AI and algorithms, and a tech industry practitioner. He is currently at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, leading a research programme around user behaviour on AI systems and AI implementation in organisations. He holds a PhD in the social science of internet technologies from the University of Oxford, where he won the Clarendon Award, which is the most prestigious scholarship at Oxford. He also holds a Masters in International Development Management from the University of Westminster, UK (with distinction) and a Masters in Governance and Public Policy from The University of Queensland, Australia (with high distinction). He has published in international journals and has presented at top conferences on new media and digital technologies. In 2022, he received the Pacific Telecommunications Council’s Young Scholar Award for his research on user strategies on algorithmic systems. He has worked in Oxford research groups on digital labour, smart cities, and AI projects in government. He has also worked in Meta's London office, focusing on user research and strategy. Prior to his postgraduate adventures beyond his home country, the Philippines, he worked in investment banks and as a university lecturer.
