Olli Sotamaa is a Professor in Game Culture Studies in the Faculty of Information Technology and Communication Sciences at Tampere University. He is a founder and co-lead of the Tampere University Game Research Lab and a team leader in the Centre of Excellence in Game Culture Studies. His most recent co-edited book is Game Production Studies (with Jan Švelch, Amsterdam University Press 2021). His current research projects explore, for example, how pervasive use of data analytics reshapes work in creative industries and how collaborations with game cultural organizations can create more socially sustainable sites for game players and game workers.
