Anna Staender serves as Scientific Collaboration Officer at the IPIE. In this role, she supports the work of the IPIE's three standing committees—Ethics, Membership, and Science and Methodology—and assists with affiliate member management.

Prior to joining the IPIE, Anna pursued an academic path. She holds a doctoral degree (PhD) in Communication and Media Science from the University of Zurich (Switzerland) and published her research in international journals. Her main research areas included election campaigns on social media, evolving news formats online, and international comparative research. In her dissertation, she specialized in online mis- and disinformation spread and discussed particularly vulnerable environments in this regard. Anna resides in Zurich, Switzerland, and is fluent in German and English, with a solid foundation in French.
