Head of Programs

Egerton Neto is the Head of Programs at the International Panel on the Information Environment (IPIE), where he leads a portfolio of scientific panels addressing global challenges at the intersection of technology, misinformation, and human rights. His work has supported expert collaborations on climate misinformation, artificial intelligence governance, online child protection, and digital inclusion.

Egerton has contributed to expert hearings convened by the European Union, Brazil’s Supreme Court, and the Brazilian Congress on topics related to disinformation and the rights of LGBTQI+ communities. His commentary and analysis have been featured in Project Syndicate, El País, and NPR.

Prior to joining the IPIE, he managed the Democracy and Technology Program at the University of Oxford and was an Aspen Institute New Voices fellow. Egerton holds a Master's in Public Policy from the London School of Economics.
