Annie Waldherr (*1980) is Professor of Computational Communication Science at the Institute for Journalism and Communication Science at the University of Vienna. She studied Communication Science at the University of Hohenheim and the School of Journalism and Communication at the University of Oregon. She held positions at the Institute for Social Sciences at the University of Hohenheim and the Institute of Journalism and Communication Science at Freie Universitat Berlin where she also obtained her PhD in 2011. Before joining the University of Vienna in September 2020, Annie Waldherr was Assistant Professor at the Institute for Communication Science at the University of Munster.Her research revolves around the broader areas of digitized public spheres, political communication, technology and science communication as well as computational social science. Annie Waldherr is currently Chair of the Computational Methods Division of the International Communication Association (ICA) and member of the editorial boards of Communication Theory, Journal of Communication, Communication Methods & Measures, Journalism & Mass Communication Quarterly, Media and Communication as well as Computational Communication Research.
