Diogenes Lycarião is an Assistant Professor in the Journalism Program and a Permanent Researcher at the Graduate Program in Communication (PPGCOM) at the Federal University of Ceará (UFC). He holds a master's and a Ph.D. in Social Communication from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG) and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in 2015 at the Fluminense Federal University (UFF). With extensive experience in the field of Communication, particularly in Political Communication, Diógenes has authored more than twenty publications, including articles in some of the most influential journals in the field. His research primarily focuses on media systems, climate change communication, online social networks, journalism, content analysis, and the public sphere. Diógenes serves as the Coordinator of Communication and Scientific Dissemination at the National Institute of Science and Technology in Disputes and Informational Sovereignties (INCT/DSI). He is the leader of the Research Group on Politics, Public Opinion, and Communication (Gruppocom), and coordinates the Science Communication and Science Policies Working Group at Comps. Additionally, he oversees the university extension project 'Scientific Dissemination through Online Platforms.' From 2021 to 2023, he was a member of the board of the Brazilian Association of Researchers in Communication and Politics, holding the position of Executive Secretary.
