Maya Indira Ganesh is Assistant Teaching Professor co-leading the MSt in AI, Ethics & Society, and a Senior Research Fellow at the Leverhulme Centre for the Future of Intelligence at the University of Cambridge. She earned a Drphil in Cultural Sciences in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Leuphana University, Lüneburg, Germany in March 2022. Maya's doctoral work takes the case of the emergent driverless car to examine representational knowledge-making and the material- discursive shaping of AI, ethics, and autonomy. Alongside academic research, Maya works as a technologist, educator, and writer across arts and cultural organisations, and civil society NGOs. Between 2008-2017, Maya was a researcher and activist working at the intersection of gender justice, technology, and digital freedom of expression with feminist NGOs and digital rights organisations in India, SE Asia, parts of Africa, and Europe.
