Niccolo Pescetelli is an Assistant Professor at the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) where he leads the Collective Intelligence Lab. His research investigates group decision-making and opinion formation in social digital environments. In 2020, he co-founded PSi, a scalable voice platform for collective participation that enables organizations and communities to get actionable insights from massive-scale voice conversations with their stakeholders. In 2018, Niccolo led the MIT BeeMe experiment, a massive immersive performance where 2000 online users controlled a human avatar to problem-solve in real-time. The experiment went viral and was featured in BBC, Forbes, The Verge, Business Insider, ABC, El Pais, La Repubblica and many other outlets worldwide. Niccolo has many peer-reviewed publications in group decision-making, collective intelligence and decision biases. He has a patent on swarm intelligence, along with Louis Rosenberg (unanimous.ai).
